Tcitib Tablet ER is used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis. It helps decrease pain, tenderness, and swelling in the joints by reducing inflammation.
Tablet ER
Tcitib Tablet ER may be prescribed by itself or in combination with another medicine. The tablets can be taken with or without food and it is best to take them at the same time each day. Your dose will depend on your condition and what other medicines you are taking. You should use it as your doctor tells you to. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to because your condition could get worse.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tcitib Tablet ER may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Tcitib Tablet ER is a Janus kinase inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of the enzyme Janus kinase. This decreases the activity of the immune system and inflammation associated with rheumatic diseases and ulcerative colitis.
Tcitib Tablet ER can make it a bit harder for people to fight off infections. Inform your doctor if you have symptoms of an infection such as fever, chills, cough, and muscle aches. Your doctor may get TB (tuberculosis) skin test and a chest X-ray before starting treatment with this medication. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.
Before starting Tcitib Tablet ER, inform your doctor about any liver issues you're experiencing. This is necessary because Tcitib Tablet ER may cause an increase in liver enzymes in some cases. As a result, it's crucial to investigate your liver function before beginning treatment with Tcitib Tablet ER. While Tcitib Tablet ER can be given to patients with mild to moderate liver function impairment, it should not be prescribed to those with severe liver impairment.
Tcitib Tablet ER may increase the risk of developing certain cancers (lymphoma and other cancers, including skin cancers) by affecting the immune system. Inform your doctor if you've ever had or have any type of cancer.
Tcitib Tablet ER is approved for use in people with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory disease affecting the joints. It's typically prescribed when previous therapy was ineffective or not suitable. However, it can also be used earlier in treatment if the patient doesn't respond well to other medications. Tcitib Tablet ER may be taken alone or in combination with other medications, such as methotrexate.
Tcitib Tablet ER usually takes around 2 to 8 weeks before you begin feeling the effects, and it can take up to 3 to 6 months to experience its maximum benefits.
You may require blood tests before or while taking Tcitib Tablet ER. These tests help check for anemia, low white blood cell count (neutropenia or lymphopenia), high cholesterol levels, and liver enzyme elevation. Additionally, your doctor may advise you to undergo a tuberculosis test before starting treatment with Tcitib Tablet ER, as it can make existing infections worse.
Tcitib Tablet ER affects the immune system and may reduce its ability to fight infection. This can increase the risk of serious infections, including tuberculosis, fungal, bacterial, or viral infections that spread through the body. In some cases, these infections can be life-threatening and even fatal.
You should not take tocilizumab along with Tcitib Tablet ER. Combining both medications can further increase the risk of infection and lead to complications.
