Spray
Tapal-D QPS Spray is a combination of four medicines: Diclofenac diethylamine, Methyl Salicylate, Menthol, and Alcohol. It works by blocking the release of certain chemicals that cause pain and inflammation. It also provides a cooling sensation to the affected area. Your doctor will explain how to use Tapal-D QPS Spray. Follow the instructions carefully to get the most benefit. You can also read the package insert for instruction. The dose and duration will depend on what you are using it for and how well it helps your symptoms. Apply it whenever it is needed or as per the doctor’s instruction. It is generally safe with little or no side effects. However, in some people, it may cause application site reactions such as redness and swelling. These are usually mild and resolve with time. If they do not go away or bother you, you should remove your patch and contact your doctor.
Hold the container with the extension tube aimed at the area of application. To spray, press the button. Allow a 2 second gap between two consecutive sprays. Use it as advised by your doctor or also check the label for directions before use.
Application site reactions such as redness and swelling
Diclofenac diethylamine and Methyl Salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which work by blocking the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Menthol dilates the blood vessels causing a sensation of coldness followed by an analgesic effect. Menthol also acts as a penetration enhancer increasing the penetration of drugs when applied on the skin to give a faster onset of action. Alcohol acts as an analgesic and anesthetic and can reduce the sensation of both physical and emotional pain.
Do not apply Tapal-D QPS Spray to large areas of skin or near sensitive areas such as private parts or on broken or injured skin. Do not cover any area of skin treated with the gel with any dressings or bandages unless advised by the doctor. Remember to wash your hands after applying Tapal-D QPS Spray unless this is the area being treated. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose, and rinse thoroughly in case of accidental contact or seek medical help in case of swallowing. Do not smoke or go near naked flames as Tapal-D QPS Spray increases the risk of severe burns. Inform your doctor if you have any skin disorders like eczema or psoriasis.
