Tamixo-D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Dutasteride, which relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so as to allow easy passage of urine. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor which helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of the hormone which helps the prostate gland grow.
You have been prescribed Tamixo-D Tablet to relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Take it approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Tamixo-D Tablet may cause dizziness or blurring of vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Tamixo-D Tablet.
Tamixo-D Tablet is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your healthcare provider. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Tamixo-D Tablet too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
Yes, the use of Tamixo-D Tablet can cause dizziness. Tamixo-D Tablet contains a combination of Tamsulosin and Dutasteride. Tamsulosin can cause sudden changes in blood pressure when transitioning from lying to sitting or standing (orthostatic hypotension), which may lead to dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, spinning sensation, and vertigo. If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, refrain from driving or operating machinery. Rest for some time and resume only after feeling better.
Tamixo-D Tablet is considered harmful to men under 18 years old as it may affect the normal development of the male reproductive tract. It can also be harmful for patients who have allergies to any of its components or women who are pregnant or potentially could become pregnant. Pregnant women should not even handle Tamixo-D Tablet as the medicine can pass through the skin and cause harm to the fetus.
Tamixo-D Tablet is safe if used in the dose and duration advised by your healthcare provider. Take it exactly as directed and do not skip any doses. Follow your healthcare provider's instructions carefully and notify them if you experience any side effects.

Retrograde ejaculation (semen does not leave the body, instead goes into the bladder) and ejaculation failure (reduced or absent ejaculation volume) are common issues associated with Tamixo-D Tablet. However, these effects are generally harmless and more frequently observed at high doses.
Yes, the use of Tamixo-D Tablet can lead to priapism (persistent painful penile erection). It is a serious but rare side effect. If not addressed immediately, it could lead to permanent impotence.
Use of Tamixo-D Tablet can cause floppy eye syndrome. This means that the muscles of the iris become weak, and they contract unexpectedly during cataract surgery. This unexpected constriction in the pupil makes it difficult for the surgeon to see properly, potentially affecting surgical outcomes.
Simple lifestyle changes can help you better manage your prostate symptoms. Try to urinate when first feeling the urge. However, avoid straining or pushing while urinating. Limit fluids (especially alcohol and caffeine) a few hours before bedtime or going out. You should also avoid medications known to worsen urinary symptoms like some over-the-counter remedies for colds and coughs.
