Frequently asked questions

What is Tacrojon Cream used for?

Tacrojon Cream is a medication that modulates the immune system, reducing its activity to treat moderate to severe eczema (atopic dermatitis) in adults who do not respond to steroids or experience side effects from using them. It works by altering the abnormal immune response, relieving skin inflammation and itchiness.

What are the side effects of Tacrojon Cream?

Common side effects of Tacrojon Cream include skin irritation, burning sensation, and itching at the application site, which are usually mild to moderate and resolve within one week. Other potential side effects include redness, warmth, pain, altered sensation, and rash at the application site, as well as increased risk of inflamed or infected hair follicles, cold sores, acne, and generalized herpes simplex infections.

Is Tacrojon Cream ointment safe?

Tacrojon Cream has been found to be a safe and effective short-term treatment for atopic dermatitis when compared to other immune-suppressing medicines. Its minimal absorption into the bloodstream reduces the risk of side effects, making it a safer option compared to oral medications.

Does Tacrojon Cream have abuse potential?

No, Tacrojon Cream does not have abuse potential and is not a controlled substance. As a result, it does not require permission from authorities or a doctor for use.

Does Tacrojon Cream cause cancer?

Long-term use of Tacrojon Cream has been linked to an increased risk of lymph node tumors called lymphoma. Some studies have found that patients who used Tacrojon Cream or similar medications developed skin cancer or lymphoma. Consult your doctor if you need to use Tacrojon Cream for more than 6 weeks or if your eczema symptoms do not improve or worsen during treatment.

Is Tacrojon Cream a steroid?

No, Tacrojon Cream is not a steroid. It is a medication that modulates the immune system, used to treat eczema, particularly atopic dermatitis. An advantage of Tacrojon Cream is that it does not cause skin thinning (atrophy) or other steroid-related side effects.
