Synovit 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Synovit 2500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in the body by helping create red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It's also essential for releasing energy from the food we consume and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Many people can obtain Vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, those who are vegetarian or vegan may face challenges getting enough vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, a deficiency in vitamin B12 is often observed in vegetarians or vegans.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to various symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (larger than normal red blood cells). It may also result in nerve problems like numbness and tingling sensations in the hands and feet. Other potential signs include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Synovit 2500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash may occur. It's crucial to discontinue the medication immediately if a rash develops.
Synovit 2500mcg Injection can be administered either intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The typical dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Synovit 2500mcg Injection) and it's given three times a week. After two months, one ampoule (0.5 mg of Synovit 2500mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting the medication in the same location on each occasion. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
