Synest 1500 Injection is a synthetic form of vitamin B12, essential for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, and protein and tissue synthesis. It is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency, which can lead to anemia, fatigue, and nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. While it is generally safe, it may have potential risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and alcohol consumption should be limited. Always consult your doctor before starting this medication.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Synest 1500 Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body, thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Synest 1500 Injection helps replenish vitamin B12 level in your body. This further helps in regeneration of damaged nerves in the body. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
Synest 1500 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also aids in energy release from food and helps with utilizing vitamin B11 (folate) production.
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, those following a vegetarian or vegan diet may not consume sufficient vitamin B12 as it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency of Vitamin B12 is commonly observed in vegetarians and vegans.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal red blood cell condition). It may also cause nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Synest 1500 Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects may occur, such as nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and rash. If a rash develops, discontinue use immediately.
Synest 1500 Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Synest 1500 Injection), given 3 times a week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Synest 1500 Injection) is administered once every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site repeatedly. If intense pain occurs during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, withdraw the needle and re-insert at a different site.
