Introduction

Surfaz Cream is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as that may cause increased side effects. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. The effects of this medicine can be increased by keeping the affected area clean and dry and washing hands before and after treating the infection. If you have an athlete's foot, wash your socks or tights thoroughly and change your shoes daily if possible. Some of the common side effects include skin irritation, redness, or itching at the site of application. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. Some people have a severe allergic reaction that needs urgent medical attention. Signs of this include rash, swelling of the lips, throat, or face, swallowing or breathing problems, dizziness and nausea. Get emergency help if this happens. How it works

Surfaz Cream is an antifungal medication which treats skin infections. It works by killing the fungi on the skin by destroying their cell membrane.

Quick Tips

Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes. Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use. Keep your vagina clean and dry. Use a separate clean towel for the infected area. Take a shower with antifungal soap after gyming or severe sweating. Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others. Apply a sufficient amount to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if the infection does not clear up even after four weeks of treatment. If used topically on the nipple area, wash breasts before feeding your child. Do not apply Surfaz Cream on cuts or burns. Keep away from children.

Frequently asked questions

What is Surfaz Cream used for?

Surfaz Cream is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal skin infections. This includes ringworm (a fungal skin infection that causes a red scaly rash on various parts of the body), athlete's foot (fungal infection of the skin on the feet and between the toes), fungal nappy rash, and fungal sweat rash. It can also relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) and irritation at the end of the penis, which may be associated with thrush.

What fungi does Surfaz Cream treat?

Surfaz Cream is effective against Trichophyton species, a group of fungi that cause ringworm infection, athlete's foot, and jock itch (fungal infection in the groin or buttocks). It is also effective against Candida yeast, commonly causing vaginal thrush (an overgrowth of yeast called Candida albicans).

When can I expect to see improvement using Surfaz Cream?

The symptoms of skin infections, like itching or soreness, should start to improve within a few days of treatment. However, the signs, such as redness and scaling, may take longer to fade. Do not stop applying this medicine before the duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel better.

What precautions should I take when using Surfaz Cream?

Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying Surfaz Cream. If using the cream for an infected foot, thoroughly wash and dry your feet before applying it, especially between the toes. Apply Surfaz Cream thinly and evenly, rubbing gently onto the affected areas two or three times daily.

How long should I use Surfaz Cream?

The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. For tinea infections, treatment is typically continued for one month. For candida infections, treatment usually lasts at least 15 days. Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better, because the infection may return.

Is Surfaz Cream safe for children?

Surfaz Cream can be used in children only under the guidance of a doctor and after appropriate dosage is prescribed. Minor side effects are possible but usually not severe. If you experience a burning sensation, redness or intense itching, discontinue use and seek medical advice immediately.

What measures help speed up recovery with Surfaz Cream?

Keep the affected skin areas clean and dry, but avoid excessive rubbing. You may experience an urge to scratch due to itchiness; however, refrain from scratching as it can damage your skin and spread the infection.

Does Surfaz Cream affect contraception?

Surfaz Cream may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives such as diaphragms and condoms. If you are using the cream on your vulva or penis, you should use alternative contraceptive methods for at least five days after applying Surfaz Cream.
