How it works
Supersal Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Clobetasol and Salicylic Acid, which treats eczema and psoriasis. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Clobetasol into the skin.
Quick Tips
Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily or as advised by your doctor. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor as this may increase the risk of side effects. After you have applied Supersal Ointment, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are the treated area). Use a mild moisturizer regularly to overcome the skin dryness during the course of treatment. Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.

Frequently asked questions
How should Supersal Ointment be used?
Follow the directions given by your doctor or refer to the product leaflet for instructions. Apply a thin layer of Supersal Ointment to the affected areas of skin. The frequency depends on the individual's condition, often two or three times per day. It is important to wash your hands after applying the medicine unless it is being used for treating skin infections on the hands.
Can I stop using Supersal Ointment once my symptoms improve?
No, do not discontinue use of Supersal Ointment until instructed by your doctor or until the full course is completed. Your symptoms may improve before the disease is fully eradicated.
Are there any precautions when using Supersal Ointment?
Supersal Ointment should not be applied to the face. Do not use this medication for extended periods beyond the recommended time frame and do not cover the affected area with a bandage or dressing. These actions can enhance absorption of the medicine and potentially increase side effects. It is important that this medicine is only used by the patient, and never shared with others, even if their condition appears similar.
Will using Supersal Ointment more than prescribed improve its efficacy?

How should Supersal Ointment be stored and disposed of?
Store Supersal Ointment in its original container or packaging, ensuring it is tightly closed. Follow the instructions on the product leaflet regarding storage and disposal. Do not consume the unused medicine and ensure it is not accessible to pets, children, or other individuals.
