Sufrate TP Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Povidone Iodine, Tinidazole, and Sucralfate. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic that slowly releases iodine to kill or prevent the growth of infectious microorganisms. Tinidazole is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and other microorganisms by damaging their DNA. Sucralfate is a protectant that covers the damaged tissue and protects it against injury to facilitate healing.
You have been prescribed Sufrate TP Ointment for the treatment of your skin infections. Apply it as a thin layer onto a clean, dry, unbroken infected area of skin. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor. Use moisturizer regularly to overcome skin dryness during the course of treatment. It may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor. Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone and wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection.
