Inform your doctor if you are taking medicines like iron tablets or antibiotics, as they might make your stools hard and difficult to pass. A fiber-rich diet with wholegrain bread and cereals, fruit, and green leafy vegetables, along with six to eight full glasses of water each day and daily exercise, is important in maintaining healthy bowel function.
