Introduction

SS Sulfa Cream is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster and some side effects may be increased. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. The effects of medicine can be increased by keeping the affected area clean and dry and washing hands before and after treating the infection.

Side Effects

Minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.

This medicine should only be used if it is clearly needed during pregnancy.

SS Sulfa Cream is a combination of two antibiotics (Silver Sulfadiazine, Metronidazole) and an antiseptic (Chlorhexidine Gluconate). The antibiotics kill the bacteria and other microorganisms that infect a burn or wound. The antiseptic works by binding strongly with skin in order to effectively clean out the area and prevent it from getting infected again.

Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
