Introduction

Kushmandaka Rasayana is a preparation of Ashwini Kumars that acts as an appetizer and carminative. It is used to treat respiratory disorders such as cough and asthma, as well as emaciation, pthisis, and deficiency of semen. The medicine is also used to treat various other conditions including cough, dysponea, chest wound, chronic fever, bleeding disorder, emesis, thirst, fever, weakness, hoarseness of voice, and discoloration.

Take 6-12 grams of Kushmandaka Rasayana as prescribed by the physician, with water or milk as an anupana.

The exact mechanism of action of Kushmandaka Rasayana is not well understood, but it is believed to work by treating the underlying causes of respiratory disorders and other conditions it is used to treat.
