Solubid 150mg Tablet works by targeting the liver and concentrating in bile secreted from it. This leads to reduced cholesterol synthesis and secretion, thereby lowering cholesterol levels within the bile. Additionally, it blocks the intestines' ability to absorb bile salts and cholesterol, further reducing their overall saturation in the bile. This process aids in the gradual dissolution of cholesterol gallstones, ultimately decreasing their size and eventual disappearance. It also helps reduce elevated liver enzyme levels by increasing bile flow through the liver, protecting the liver cells.
Yes, there's a possibility of weight gain with Solubid 150mg Tablet, but it's not common. However, weight gain may occur in patients with liver disease caused by bile stagnation in the small bile ducts of the liver. This condition results in bile unable to flow from the liver to the intestines. Again, the extent of weight gain varies among individuals based on their specific condition and severity of illness. Consult your doctor if you notice any unexplained weight gain.
While taking Solubid 150mg Tablet, avoid using antacids without consulting your doctor as they reduce the medication's effectiveness. Additionally, avoid medicines like cholestyramine or colestipol, which can affect the effectiveness of Solubid 150mg Tablet. Consult your doctor about the recommended time gap between taking these medicines and Solubid 150mg Tablet. Avoid taking oral contraceptives, estrogenic hormones, and blood cholesterol-lowering agents like clofibrate as they may increase gallstone formation and work against the medication's effects.
