Oral Suspension
Solecold Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. It is commonly prescribed in children to relieve symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.
Solecold Oral Suspension is for oral use only. Shake the bottle well before use. Measure the dose accurately using the measuring cup provided. Do not give Solecold Oral Suspension if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child's doctor before giving such medicines.
Solecold Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Do not give Solecold Oral Suspension if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child's doctor before giving such medicines. Solecold Oral Suspension may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Solecold Oral Suspension with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Solecold Oral Suspension and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
A common cold is a respiratory illness that usually resolves on its own within about a week. If you have concerns about your child's comfort, consult with a healthcare professional to discuss appropriate treatment options for faster recovery. If your child's cold symptoms don't improve or worsen, seek medical advice from a doctor. A persistent cough may indicate a more serious condition such as bronchitis or asthma.
Overdose of Solecold Oral Suspension can potentially lead to severe side effects like seizures, psychiatric symptoms, urinary retention, shaking hands, blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, and rapid heart rate. Seek immediate medical attention by contacting your child's doctor.
Solecold Oral Suspension may interact with other medications or substances. Always inform your healthcare provider about all other medications your child is taking before starting Solecold Oral Suspension. Additionally, seek guidance from a doctor regarding the administration of any medication to your child.
Solecold Oral Suspension should be avoided for children with seizures. Furthermore, do not administer this medicine to children with cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Always inform the doctor about your child's medical history and consult with a healthcare professional before administering Solecold Oral Suspension.
Solecold Oral Suspension may cause mild drowsiness, potentially leading to sleepiness in children. Do not use this medicine for inducing sleep. Forced sleep could mask underlying sleep disorders like insomnia. Consult with your healthcare provider before administering this medication.
Solecold Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature in a dry, dark place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Keep all medications out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
