Snee Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of the common cold, hay fever, and other respiratory tract conditions in children.
Syrup
Snee Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.
Snee Syrup should be given to your child as directed by the doctor. Make sure to read the label carefully and follow the instructions.
Snee Syrup contains two active medicines: Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. These two ingredients work together to provide relief from the symptoms of the common cold. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It restricts the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for inducing pain and fever. The second ingredient Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Avoid giving Snee Syrup to your child too close to bedtime as it may affect your child’s sleep quality. Never combine Snee Syrup with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Make sure you have enough medicine to complete the entire prescribed course. Stop Snee Syrup and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
Typically, Snee Syrup is prescribed for administration three times daily, but no more than four doses per day as this represents the maximum one-day dosage of the medication. This dose may vary based on your child's specific medical condition. Always follow the doctor’s instructions regarding dosage, timing, and method.
Snee Syrup can impact sleep quality by stimulating brain activity. Therefore, avoid administering Snee Syrup close to bedtime.
Snee Syrup is not recommended for children with pre-existing heart conditions as it can raise blood pressure and decrease heart rate, potentially exacerbating underlying heart issues. It's essential to consult a doctor regarding your child’s cardiac health before using Snee Syrup.
Snee Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Always inform your doctor about any other medications or supplements your child is taking before starting Snee Syrup. It's crucial to discuss potential interactions with your child’s healthcare provider.
Snee Syrup should be used with caution in children with malnutrition, G6PD deficiency, liver disease, asthma, bowel obstruction, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, hypertension, increased intraocular pressure, or any known medicinal allergies. It's essential to provide your child’s complete medical history to the doctor so they can make an informed decision regarding the medicine.
It is advisable not to administer any vaccines while your child is undergoing treatment with Snee Syrup. Allow them to recover from the current illness and complete their course of medication before getting vaccinated. After a child feels better, even if they are receiving antibiotics, the vaccine can and should be given.
Snee Syrup should not be administered to children under 2 years of age as this may lead to fatal respiratory depression, where the child’s breathing could completely stop.
Store Snee Syrup at room temperature in a dry, well-ventilated location away from direct sunlight and heat. It is also crucial to keep all medications out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
