Dicyclomine (10mg) + Simethicone (40mg)
Simspas Oral Suspension is used to treat stomach pain, bloating, abdominal cramps, and symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.
Oral Suspension
Simspas Oral Suspension is commonly prescribed to alleviate stomach pain, bloating, and abdominal cramps. It is effective in managing pain associated with excessive acidity, gas, infections, and gastrointestinal tract diseases. Additionally, it helps control symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome by relaxing the muscles of the gut and absorbing extra gas. It is important to consult a healthcare provider before using this medication, especially for children under 2 months of age.
Use Simspas Oral Suspension as directed by your healthcare provider. Ensure to follow the prescribed dosage and administration guidelines.
Simspas Oral Suspension contains Dicyclomine, an antispasmodic agent, and Simethicone, an antifoaming medicine. Dicyclomine relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut, stopping sudden muscle contractions and relieving abdominal cramps and pain. Simethicone disintegrates gas bubbles, allowing easy passage of gas.
Inform your doctor if you experience severe or long-lasting pain in your stomach. Give your child a diet that is rich in fiber and low in fermentable sugars. Avoid giving gas-producing foods to your child such as beans, onions, carrots, raisins, and bananas. Encourage your child to exercise daily as it has potential benefits in constipation and in improving overall wellbeing. In children less than 2 months of age, do not give Simspas Oral Suspension without ruling out the reasons that might be making your child cry. Give Simspas Oral Suspension only if your child shows actual signs of abdominal discomfort or pain after consulting your child’s doctor. Children may experience abdominal pain due to migraines. The other associated symptoms can be a headache, nausea, anorexia, vomiting, and pallor. Since Simspas Oral Suspension is strictly for abdominal pain, rule out such types of pain before giving this medicine.
