Alfuzosin Amisulpride Aripiprazole Astemizole
SGK Cream is an antifungal medication. It kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane thereby treating your skin infection.
Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes. Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use. Use a separate clean towel for the feet and wear clean cotton socks. Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others.
SGK Cream is a topical medication indicated for the treatment of fungal skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, sweat rash (infected with a yeast), and candidiasis. It effectively relieves itching caused by these infections.
SGK Cream is not a steroid cream. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals, meaning it kills or inhibits the growth of fungi responsible for the infection.
Common side effects of SGK Cream include application site burning, redness, and itching. Uncommon side effects may also occur, such as discomfort, dryness, bleeding, allergic reactions (hives, rash), skin exfoliation, sticky skin sensation, or inflammation.
For optimal results, it is recommended to apply a mild steroid ointment like hydrocortisone cream/ointment in the morning and SGK Cream in the evening. Gradually reduce usage of the steroid cream over 2-3 weeks. However, if you have previously used potent corticosteroid for seborrheic dermatitis, ensure at least a 2-week gap before applying SGK Cream to prevent skin sensitization.
Before using SGK Cream, wash the affected area thoroughly with water and then dry it. Wash your hands carefully (until and unless your hands are also affected) after application to prevent infection spread. This helps in containing and preventing the infection from spreading.
Use of SGK Cream is generally for 2-4 weeks for jock itch and sweat rash, while it can be used for 2-6 weeks for athlete's foot. Do not stop using the medication even if symptoms subside because re-infection could occur.
If you forget applying SGK Cream, do not worry and continue using it as soon as you remember. Consult your doctor if you have any questions or doubts regarding the medication's use.
