Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

Frequently asked questions
Can I give cough and allergy medicines together, as my child has both symptoms?
No, do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually contain similar ingredients. This may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, potentially causing serious side effects.
Should I adjust Setstar M Syrup dosage if my child starts feeling better?
No, adhere to the dose prescribed by your child's doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose without consulting a medical professional as this may impact your child's health. Adjusting the dose can lead to unwanted side effects like sedation and depression, and stopping it abruptly could result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.
