Seloric 100mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat and prevent gout. Gout happens when there is too much uric acid in your body and it forms into crystals that can appear around your joints and kidneys and cause pain. This medicine helps to keep uric acid levels low.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Seloric 100mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Seloric 100mg Tablet is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by decreasing blood uric acid which is the chemical that causes gout.
Take Seloric 100mg Tablet with food to avoid stomach upset. Take plenty of fluids (2-3 litres) daily while on Seloric 100mg Tablet. Notify your doctor if you develop a rash. This could be a sign of allergy and should go away on discontinuing Seloric 100mg Tablet. When you first start taking this medicine you might have more gout attacks. You may notice a significant reduction in gout attacks or improvement in symptoms after several months of taking Seloric 100mg Tablet. Initially, you might experience an increase in gouty attacks. Continue taking the medication as directed by your doctor, even if you don't see immediate relief. It's essential to complete the prescribed treatment duration, which may take up to years for the body to completely eliminate uric acid crystals.
To prevent gout attacks and maintain optimal health, limit or avoid foods rich in proteins. Also, refrain from consuming alcohol while taking Seloric 100mg Tablet. Drink at least eight glasses of water or other fluids daily unless your doctor advises otherwise.
