Short Description

Selepeg 400 Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (high pressure in the blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs).

Introduction

Selepeg 400 Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it regularly and take it at the same time each day to help you remember. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor. Common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, jaw pain, nausea, myalgia, vomiting, pain in extremity, and flushing. Generally, most of its side effects usually resolve on their own and do not need any medical attention. However, you should consult with the doctor if you are bothered by any of the side effects.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Selepeg 400 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Interacting Medicines

Gemfibrozil

Selepeg 400 Tablet acts on the blood vessels in lungs in a similar way to the natural substance prostacyclin, helping them to relax and widen. This makes it easier for the heart to pump blood through these blood vessels.

Do not take Selepeg 400 Tablet if you are allergic to Selepeg 400 Tablet or any of the ingredients in this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are taking medicines for high blood pressure or if you experience dizziness during treatment. Also, let the doctor know if you have severe kidney problems or are undergoing dialysis. Inform your doctor if you are taking gemfibrozil (a medicine used to lower the level of fats [lipids] in the blood) since it may affect how Selepeg 400 Tablet works and cause side effects. Avoid indulging in activities such as driving or operating machines.
