Frequently asked questions
What is Scocob 1500mcg Injection?
Scocob 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps your body produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It's also important for using vitamin B11 (folate) to release energy from food.
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. People who follow vegetarian or vegan diets may lack vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency can occur in these individuals.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (when red blood cells become larger than normal). It can also lead to nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory problems, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Scocob 1500mcg Injection safe?
Scocob 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects like nausea, diarrhea, or anorexia may occur. If you experience a rash, discontinue taking this medicine immediately.
How should Scocob 1500mcg Injection be administered?
Scocob 1500mcg Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Scocob 1500mcg Injection), given three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Scocob 1500mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as part of long-term maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Scocob 1500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting the medicine at the same site repeatedly. If you experience intense pain while injecting or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different location.
