Frequently asked questions
What is Saromegold 2500 Injection?
Saromegold 2500 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 plays an essential role in red blood cell formation and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also contributes to releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 through diet?
Vitamin B12 is naturally found in foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, individuals who are vegetarian or vegan may not obtain adequate vitamin B12 as it is not typically present in plant-based sources such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency can occur more frequently in these groups.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal increase in red blood cell size). It can also lead to nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include impaired balance, depression, confusion, memory issues, mouth or tongue soreness.
Is Saromegold 2500 Injection safe?
Saromegold 2500 Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, it's possible to experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, or rash. If you notice a rash after using the injection, discontinue use immediately.
How should Saromegold 2500 Injection be administered?
Saromegold 2500 Injection can be injected intravenously or intramuscularly. The usual dose is 1 ampoule (containing 0.5 mg of Saromegold 2500 Injection), and it's typically given three times a week. After two months, 1 ampoule is given every one to three months as part of ongoing maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken while administering Saromegold 2500 Injection?
Avoid repeatedly injecting the same area in the body. If there is intense pain during injection, or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
