Introduction

Samivio Tablet is a medicine used for the treatment of liver disease associated with reduced bile formation (intrahepatic cholestasis). It protects the liver cells from toxins and helps the liver to perform its normal functions. Samivio Tablet may be taken with or without food. The dose will depend on the severity of your condition and your body weight. It is best swallowed whole but you may need to break them to get the correct dose. This medicine needs to be taken regularly to get the most benefit and you may have to take it for several months or longer so try to get into a routine. Keep using it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Samivio Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Samivio Tablet contains S-Adenosyl L-Methoinine Disulfate Tosylate, also known as SAMe, a nutritional supplement that can restore Glutathione concentrations in the liver and also improves liver damage. SAMe is also involved in many biochemical reactions in the human body that regulate the growth, death and differentiation of hepatocytes (liver cells). Because liver function is compromised in people suffering from liver disease, supplementation with Samivio Tablet is beneficial.

Samivio Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of liver disease. Seek immediate medical attention if you have difficulty breathing after taking the drug. Samivio Tablet may interfere with surgery. Its use should be discontinued at least two weeks prior to surgery. Avoid smoking and drinking as it further degrades liver functioning. You will be regularly monitored for blood creatinine and blood/urine urea levels while on treatment with Samivio Tablet.
