Introduction

Salof-MS Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients, including ofloxacin and metronidazole, which are antibiotics, and simethicone, a gas-absorbing agent. It is used to treat bacterial infections in children, and is also given as an empirical antibiotic for infected diarrhea mixed with blood and serious infections like peritonitis.

Salof-MS Oral Suspension should be given to your child as directed by your doctor. It is important to follow the dosage instructions carefully and to complete the full course of treatment.

Side Effects

Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water.

The antibiotic ingredients in Salof-MS Oral Suspension interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem, aiding in the removal of gases and providing relief in stomach pain and bloating.
