How it works
Salobet Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Clobetasol and Salicylic Acid. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Clobetasol into the skin.
Quick Tips
Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily or as advised by your doctor. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor as this may increase the risk of side effects. After you have applied Salobet Ointment, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are the treated area). Use a mild moisturizer regularly to overcome the skin dryness during the course of treatment. Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.

Frequently asked questions
How do I use Salobet Ointment effectively?
Apply Salobet Ointment as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the product label. Use a thin layer to cover the affected skin area, and repeat two or three times a day. After application, wash your hands unless you're treating a hand infection. Remember to use the ointment for its intended duration to ensure complete treatment of the condition.
Should I stop using Salobet Ointment when my symptoms improve?
No, do not discontinue Salobet Ointment even if your symptoms seem to be resolving. Complete the full course of treatment prescribed by your doctor or indicated on the product label to ensure the condition is fully treated.
What precautions should I take while using Salobet Ointment?
When using Salobet Ointment, avoid applying it to your face. Also, do not use this medication for longer than recommended or cover the area with a bandage or dressing, as this can increase absorption and risk of side effects. Only use the ointment by yourself and never share it with others.
Will using more Salobet Ointment than prescribed make it more effective?
No, overusing Salobet Ointment will not enhance its effectiveness. In fact, excessive use can lead to too much medication being absorbed into the body, potentially causing skin thinning or other serious side effects. If you experience worsening symptoms, consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
How should I store and dispose of Salobet Ointment?
Store Salobet Ointment in its original container, tightly closed, according to the instructions on the label. Dispose of unused medication responsibly, ensuring it is not accessible to pets, children, or other individuals.
