Salipic 6% Ointment is an anti-bacterial medicine used to treat acne. It works by attacking the germs that cause acne.

Salipic 6% Ointment may be used alone or with other acne treatments. You should use it as your doctor's advice. The leaflet that comes with the product will also give instructions which you should read to get the most out of this medicine. You should normally wash and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of gel once or twice a day. You should not apply it to damaged or broken skin and avoid contact with your mouth, eyes, and nose. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve and several months to get maximum benefit but after you have used it for a month you should see your doctor again to check if your condition is improving.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.
Salipic 6% Ointment is a keratolytic medication to be applied on the skin. It treats pimples (acne) by penetrating the skin and killing acne-causing bacteria. It additionally reduces oil production in the skin, replenishes acne-prone skin, and keeps your pores open.
Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and genitals. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water. It makes your skin sensitive towards sunlight. Use protective measures like sunscreen or wear protective clothing. Inform your doctor if you notice unusual dryness, redness, and peeling of the skin. Do not apply to open wounds or irritated skin.
Before applying, ensure that you remove all makeup and wash your hands thoroughly. Gently dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer of Salipic 6% Ointment cream to the entire affected skin area. After application, wash your hands thoroughly with water.
Initially, Salipic 6% Ointment is applied once daily in the evening. The ointment does not need to be washed off after application, so it can remain on the skin overnight unless you experience irritation. However, if you experience irritation, consult your doctor.
Discontinue Salipic 6% Ointment and consult your doctor if you experience severe local irritation, which manifests as redness, dryness and itching. Burning sensations or stinging are also considered signs of irritation.
Use Salipic 6% Ointment only on your skin, keeping it away from areas like eyes, eyelids, lips, mouth and inside of the nose. If the medication comes in contact with these areas, wash the affected area immediately with water. Avoid using Salipic 6% Ointment on scratched or eroded skin or open wounds. Use extra caution when applying it to sensitive areas such as your neck. Salipic 6% Ointment can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, avoid sunbeds/lamps and minimize time spent in the sun. Wear sunscreen and protective clothing while using Salipic 6% Ointment. Avoid contact with hair because Salipic 6% Ointment has bleaching properties. This may even bleach dyed or colored fabrics, furniture, or carpeting.
The initial dose is best applied once daily in the evening. Your doctor will gradually increase this dose to twice daily (morning and evening).
You may see an improvement within 4-6 weeks of treatment. For significant results with acne, it may take about 8 weeks of consistent use of Salipic 6% Ointment.
Salipic 6% Ointment typically starts clearing acne within a few days after use. However, for noticeable effects on acne, it may take about 8 weeks of consistent use.
Inform your doctor if your acne does not improve after completing the full course of treatment, and if you experience worsening symptoms while using this medication.
