Frequently asked questions
What is Salcob 1500mcg Injection?
Salcob 1500mcg Injection contains Vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You obtain Vitamin B12 from foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not obtain enough Vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vegetarians or vegans may experience a deficiency of vitamin B12.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It may also cause nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other possible symptoms include imbalance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and mouth or tongue soreness.
Is Salcob 1500mcg Injection safe?
Salcob 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash may occur. If a rash occurs, stop taking the medicine immediately.
How should Salcob 1500mcg Injection be administered?
Salcob 1500mcg Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The typical dosage is one ampoule (0.5 mg of Salcob 1500mcg Injection), given three times per week. After two months, a dose of one ampoule (0.5 mg of Salcob 1500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Salcob 1500mcg Injection?
Do not inject the medicine at the same site each time. If pain or backflow occurs during injection, remove the needle and re-inject at a different site.
