Glycerin (10% w/v) + Mannitol (% w/v)
Saitol Infusion is a combination of two medicines used to treat cerebral edema (swelling in the brain).
Injection
Saitol Infusion is given as an injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It is a combination of Glycerin and Mannitol, which treat increased pressure in the skull/brain. Mannitol is an osmotic diuretic that draws water out of tissues in the brain and decreases swelling around the brain. Addition of Glycerin prevents the swelling from coming back. The medicine is generally safe to use with no common side effects. However, take caution while taking medicine if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
