S Cof Syrup is a combination of ambroxol, guaifenesin, menthol, and salbutamol. Ambroxol and guaifenesin work by thinning and loosening the mucus in the airways and clearing congestion. Salbutamol makes breathing easier by relaxing the muscles of the airways and menthol soothes the throat.
Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication. If at any time your breathing gets worse, please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway. Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will worsen your condition. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor so they can review your condition on a regular basis.
