Ryclav Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract.
Oral Suspension
Ryclav Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Bitter taste in the mouth after intake Diarrhea Itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty (stop use and report to doctor immediately)
Ryclav Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria.
Complete the entire course of antibiotics Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops Never give Ryclav Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor Do not give Ryclav Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses Check 'expiry' before giving Ryclav Dry Syrup to your child
Ryclav Dry Syrup may interact with other medicines or substances. Before starting treatment, inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking. Always consult a healthcare professional for any medication administration to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children after vaccination. However, waiting until your child recovers from the illness before administering a vaccine is recommended. After the initial recovery, you can administer the vaccine as per your doctor's guidance.
Under prolonged therapy, periodic kidney and liver function tests are often conducted to monitor your child's condition. These tests help track potential side effects of the treatment.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage of Ryclav Dry Syrup. Any increase in dosage may heighten the risk of side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult with your doctor for an appropriate evaluation and adjustment.
Do not discontinue treatment without consulting a doctor, even if you notice symptom improvement. The infection may be partially cured but could still benefit from continued treatment as it might prevent recurrence. Follow your doctor's instructions for complete course of therapy.
Yes, Ryclav Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic nature and potential impact on gut flora. To manage diarrhea, encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids and consult with a doctor if symptoms persist or if you notice signs of dehydration such as infrequent urination and dark-colored urine with a strong odor.
Usually, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Antibiotic use in viral infections can increase the risk of side effects. Seek guidance from your child's doctor to determine if antibiotics are necessary.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics and is often a normal part of the common cold progression. Symptoms typically last 7 to 10 days, and you should contact your child's doctor if there are other concerning signs or symptoms.
Seek immediate medical attention for your child in the following situations: severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), and liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). While rare, these are serious side effects requiring urgent intervention.
