Rupactin 0.5mg Tablet works by decreasing the release of prolactin, a hormone that stimulates breast milk production. This stops the production of breast milk in cases of stillbirth, abortion, or miscarriage.
Used to treat conditions such as infertility or abnormal breast milk production caused by excess prolactin. Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to lower the chance of dizziness or passing out. Do not take if you are breastfeeding. Take with or after food to avoid nausea or indigestion. Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as it can cause dizziness and sleepiness. Regular monitoring of blood pressure may be advised during treatment.
Rupactin 0.5mg Tablet contains Cabergoline, which belongs to a group of medicines that reduce prolactin levels. It is used to treat medical problems such as galactorrhoea (abnormal milk production) due to abnormally high prolactin levels. It is also used to stop breast milk production (lactation) in cases of stillbirth, abortion, or miscarriage.
Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage and duration will depend on your medical condition. It is recommended to take the medication with food or after meals, which may help reduce nausea or vomiting.
During the first few days of treatment, this medicine may cause a temporary decrease in blood pressure, leading to dizziness. To avoid this, slowly change your position (sitting, standing, lying down) as recommended by your doctor. Regular monitoring of your blood pressure is also advisable during these initial days. Common side effects include drowsiness, nausea, headache, dizziness, vertigo, stomach pain, indigestion, fatigue, and weakness. If any of these side effects bother you, consult your doctor.
