Rostat-F Tablet is a combination of two lipids (fat) lowering medicines. It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rostat-F Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Rostat-F Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Notify your doctor if you experience muscle symptoms (pain or weakness) particularly if accompanied with fever. Notify your doctor if you experience stomach pain, loss of hunger, a sick feeling or dark urine. Do not discontinue Rostat-F Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Notify your doctor if you experience any side effects. Avoid alcohol consumption (includes wine, beer, and liquor).
Rostat-F Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. A very rare (1 in 10,000 patient) side effect is liver damage. Patients with pre-existing liver disease should avoid using this medication. If experiencing any early signs or symptoms of liver dysfunction, including fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzyme values, contact your doctor immediately.
Muscle pain may occur due to muscle injury. However, this side effect is not experienced by everyone. If experiencing muscle pain or weakness, consult with your doctor as soon as possible.
Adopting healthy lifestyle changes can help improve your overall well-being while using Rostat-F Tablet. Quit smoking to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. If you are overweight or obese, attempt to lose weight. Maintain a nutritious diet by incorporating fruits and vegetables into your meals. Regular exercise strengthens your heart and decreases your risk of heart attack.
Rostat-F Tablet can interact with several medications, potentially leading to serious complications. Before starting any new prescription or over-the-counter medicine, it's crucial to consult your doctor. Discuss your medication use with them for informed decision-making.
