Rivaroxaban (10mg)
Rixar 10 Tablet is a medicine known as an anticoagulant or blood thinner. It helps prevent and treat blood clots. It is used to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.
Tablet
Rixar 10 Tablet is commonly used in patients with irregular heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation) to prevent clot formation. It also reduces the risk of getting clots in people who have undergone knee or hip replacement surgeries. It may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day for maximum benefits. You may need to take this medicine for many years even for life in some cases. Do not stop taking it or change the dose without guidance from your doctor. It could quickly put you more at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or thrombosis (formation of a blood clot within a blood vessel). You can reduce your risk of having a blood clot by making changes to your lifestyle such as not smoking, eating a healthy diet, getting regular exercise, and losing weight if you need to.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rixar 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Rixar 10 Tablet is a novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC). It works by stopping a clotting factor called factor Xa from working. This helps prevent the formation of blood clots in the body.
For best results take Rixar 10 Tablet at the same time every day. It is better to take at night with meals. It interacts less with food or other medicines. Hence frequent dose changes are not required. It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, using sharp objects or engaging in contact sports (e.g. football, wrestling). It may cause dizziness. Avoid driving or activity requiring mental focus until you know how it affects you. If you are going to have a surgery or dental treatment, you may be asked to stop taking Rixar 10 Tablet temporarily. Notify your doctor if you have any kidney problem. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not stop taking medication without talking to your doctor.
Common side effects of Rixar 10 Tablet include prolonged or excessive bleeding, shortness of breath (which may indicate bleeding), weakness, fatigue, paleness, dizziness, headaches, and unexplained swelling. Other possible side effects can be severe skin reactions and allergic responses, bruising, coughing up blood, bleeding from the skin or under the skin, and limb swelling and pain. Rixar 10 Tablet might also increase bilirubin levels and decrease platelet count. Some individuals may experience fainting episodes, increased heart rate, and dry mouth. If you notice any side effects, consult your doctor immediately.
Yes, Rixar 10 Tablet is a blood thinner. It works by preventing the formation of blood clots within the circulatory system and existing clot re-occurrence in the blood vessels. It is often prescribed for treating blood clots in the legs' veins and pulmonary arteries.
Rixar 10 Tablet generally has significant benefits, but it can increase the risk of bleeding due to its blood-thinning effect. It may cause serious bleeding that requires immediate medical attention. The chance of severe bleeding might be higher if you're taking Rixar 10 Tablet with other blood thinners. If you experience any bleeding, contact your doctor immediately.
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice are potentially problematic when combined with Rixar 10 Tablet due to their impact on the metabolism of the medication. The compounds in grapefruit can slow down the breakdown of Rixar 10 Tablet, leading to increased bleeding risk. For those taking other blood thinners such as warfarin, it's important to avoid foods that enhance vitamin K activity or increase blood clotting, like spinach, brussels sprouts, mustard greens, broccoli, asparagus, and green tea. However, these food items are not necessarily restricted while using Rixar 10 Tablet.
