How it works
Rigoclav Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be administered simultaneously with Rigoclav Dry Syrup?
It is crucial to consult a healthcare professional before administering any other medications or substances alongside Rigoclav Dry Syrup. Rigoclav Dry Syrup may interact with certain medications, and informing your doctor of all the medications your child is currently taking will help ensure their safety.
Can I administer vaccinations to my child while on treatment with Rigoclav Dry Syrup?
Typically, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in vaccinated children. However, it is advisable to delay administering vaccines until your child has recovered from the illness for which they are taking Rigoclav Dry Syrup. Once their condition improves, you can give them the vaccine after consulting with your doctor.
What lab tests might be performed while my child takes Rigoclav Dry Syrup long-term?
In case of prolonged therapy, it is likely that kidney and liver function tests will be monitored periodically to evaluate your child's overall health.
Can I administer a higher than recommended dose of Rigoclav Dry Syrup to my child?
It is not recommended to exceed the prescribed dosage of this medication as it may increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, contact their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Rigoclav Dry Syrup when my child’s symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue administering this medication to your child until the complete course of treatment is completed. The symptoms may improve before the infection is fully eradicated. Continue the prescribed dosage for the entire duration as it may still provide beneficial effects.
Does Rigoclav Dry Syrup cause diarrhea in children?
Yes, Rigoclav Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea. As an antibiotic that eliminates harmful bacteria, this medication also affects the delicate balance of good bacteria present in your child's stomach and may trigger diarrhea.
