Rifamus 200mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infectious diarrhea. It works by killing and stopping the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestines.

Rifamus 200mg Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit and you should keep on taking this medicine for as long as you are prescribed. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rifamus 200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Rifamus 200mg Tablet is an antibiotic. Rifamus 200mg Tablet inhibits the bacteria's ability to make proteins and stops the growth of bacteria that cause infectious diarrhea.
You have been prescribed Rifamus 200mg Tablet for the treatment of infectious diarrhea. It should only be taken for a maximum of three days. If your symptoms do not improve after three days, inform your doctor. Do not take a second course of Rifamus 200mg Tablet. It may cause reddish discoloration of urine. This is normal and harmless. Stop taking Rifamus 200mg Tablet and inform your doctor if your diarrhoea gets worse or starts to contain blood or mucus. Finish the full course of the medication even if you feel better. Stopping the course early increases the risk of coming back of the infection.
The duration of treatment depends on the condition being treated. For traveler's diarrhea, it's usually 3 days, while for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), it's typically 14 days.
Rifamus 200mg Tablet can help improve symptoms and delay recurrence, but its effectiveness in curing IBS completely is uncertain. It may alleviate symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, and discomfort.
Rifamus 200mg Tablet usually starts working within 24-48 hours. Symptoms like diarrhea may improve gradually after starting treatment, and a 2-week course can provide relief that lasts up to 10 weeks even after stopping the medication.
