Restaril LX Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol, and Guaifenesin, which relieves cough with mucus.
Restaril LX Syrup relieves cough accompanied with mucus associated with broncho-pulmonary disorders such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and emphysema. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. Monitor your blood glucose regularly while taking this medicine if you are diabetic. Inform your doctor if you have a history of thyroid or heart disease. Stop taking Restaril LX Syrup and inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache.
Restaril LX Syrup contains Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is used for the treatment of cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic, which thins and loosens the mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles and widens airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant, which decreases the stickiness of mucus and helps to remove it from the airways.
Restaril LX Syrup is generally safe for most patients. However, some may experience common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reaction, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramp, and increased heart rate. If you experience any persistent problems while taking this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
It's crucial to avoid using Restaril LX Syrup if you have a history of allergy to any of its active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should not be taken together.
Yes, Restaril LX Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you experience dizziness, rest and resume when feeling better. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel normal.
Yes, Restaril LX Syrup can cause diarrhea. If this occurs, drink plenty of water or other fluids. If diarrhea persists and you notice signs of dehydration (e.g., decreased urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine), contact your doctor.
Store Restaril LX Syrup in its original container or packaging, tightly closed. Store according to the instructions on the label and package. Discard any unused medicine. It should not be consumed by pets, children, or other people.
