Frequently asked questions
What is Relomin 2500mcg Injection?
Relomin 2500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body requires for producing red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food, as well as using vitamin B11 (folate).
Why can I get insufficient Vitamin B12 through diet?
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. Vegetarians and vegans may experience a deficiency of vitamin B12 because it's not present in plant-based foods. However, they can choose fortified foods or supplements to get adequate levels.
What happens if I have Vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to tiredness and weakness. It may also cause constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (abnormal red blood cell size). Other symptoms include numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, problems with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and mouth or tongue soreness.
Is Relomin 2500mcg Injection safe?
Relomin 2500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, some people may experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash. Discontinue the medication if you experience a rash.
How should Relomin 2500mcg Injection be given?
Relomin 2500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dose is one ampoule (0.5 mg of Relomin 2500mcg Injection), and it's usually administered three times per week. After two months, one ampoule (0.5 mg of Relomin 2500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Relomin 2500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site each time. If there's intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, withdraw the needle and re-inject at a different location.
