Introduction
Relmox CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Relmox CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Relmox CV Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Relmox CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Relmox CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Relmox CV Dry Syrup to your child. Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be administered alongside Relmox CV Dry Syrup at the same time?
Relmox CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It's crucial to inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting Relmox CV Dry Syrup. Seek medical advice from your child's healthcare provider before administering any medicine to them.
Can I schedule a vaccination for my child while on treatment with Relmox CV Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or trigger negative reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, children undergoing antibiotic therapy should avoid receiving vaccinations until they recover from any existing illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered after consulting with their doctor.
What lab tests are typically conducted during long-term treatment of Relmox CV Dry Syrup?
For prolonged therapy, periodic kidney and liver function tests may be recommended by your child's doctor to monitor their overall health.
Can I administer a higher dose than the recommended dosage of Relmox CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher than the recommended dosage of this medication can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased symptoms, consult their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop administering Relmox CV Dry Syrup to my child once the symptoms have improved?
No, do not discontinue treatment with this medicine unless the entire prescribed course is completed. Even if you feel better, it's crucial to continue the medication as it may still provide beneficial effects.
Can Relmox CV Dry Syrup trigger diarrhea in my child?
Yes, Relmox CV Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic that eliminates harmful bacteria. Moreover, the medication could also affect the good bacteria present in your child's stomach and lead to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water or other fluids if they experience diarrhea. In case of persistent diarrhea, seek advice from your doctor, especially if you notice signs of dehydration like reduced urine frequency with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Consult a healthcare professional before administering any additional medication.
Does all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most often, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. In fact, giving antibiotics to a child with a viral infection can increase the risk of developing side effects. Therefore, only use antibiotics after consulting with your child's doctor.
Is there any indication that my child needs immediate medical attention?
If you notice signs of severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal distress (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, pallor, vomiting), seek immediate medical attention. Though rare, these side effects are serious and require expert intervention.
