Rakcen Topical Solution is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing and prevents the infection from spreading.
You have been prescribed Rakcen Topical Solution for the treatment of acne. You may have to use it for a long time before your acne starts to improve. Be patient and keep using it every day. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Rakcen Topical Solution. Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by acne. It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
Before applying Rakcen Topical Solution, clean and dry the affected area thoroughly. Gently massage it into your skin without getting it in your eyes or mouth. If you accidentally get it in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult your doctor if irritation persists.
Use Rakcen Topical Solution as directed by your doctor, which may be for several months to clear up your acne completely. Initial benefits might take a few weeks to appear, followed by a gradual but noticeable improvement. Typically, Rakcen Topical Solution should be used for no more than 12 weeks. You might need to use multiple tubes during each treatment course.
Rakcen Topical Solution treats and prevents acne by inhibiting the growth of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) that cause it. Acne is a common skin condition often associated with puberty, where excess grease from glands in the skin can clog pores, leading to blocked pores (blackheads), bacterial invasion, and red spots filled with pus.
Rakcen Topical Solution is effective when used as directed by your doctor. Don't stop using it even if you see improvement in your condition; stopping too early might lead to symptoms returning or worsening.
The most common side effects include irritation, swollen, pale red bumps, and dryness. A scaly skin rash may rarely occur with the use of Rakcen Topical Solution; consult your doctor if it bothers you.
Avoid getting Rakcen Topical Solution in your eyes or mouth. If you accidentally get it in your eyes, rinse immediately and contact your doctor. Inform your doctor if you're allergic to Rakcen Topical Solution or any of its ingredients, notice an allergic reaction during initial use, or are taking other medicines regularly.
Inform your doctor about any regular medications you're taking before using Rakcen Topical Solution. This can help prevent interactions and minimize side effects.
Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should use Rakcen Topical Solution only as directed by their doctor, after consulting about potential risks and benefits.
