How it works
Racigyl SB Powder for Oral Solution is a combination of two medicines: Racecadotril and Saccharomyces boulardii which reduce symptoms of diarrhoea in children. Racecadotril has an anti-secretory effect. It reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine. This helps to reduce the amount of fluid loss from the body in diarrhoea. Saccharomyces boulardii is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset due to intestinal infections.

You have been prescribed Racigyl SB Powder for Oral Solution for the treatment of diarrhea. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated. Take light meals and avoid fatty, spicy, or heavy food. Do not drink alcohol while taking and till 4 days after taking this medication. Do not use Racigyl SB Powder for Oral Solution if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated. Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
