Frequently asked questions
How much Pyrigesic Drop should I give to my child?
Always follow your doctor's instructions regarding how much medicine to give and how often to administer it. The commonly recommended dose is 10-15 mg/kg per dose every 4 to 6 hours, but consult the label or leaflet for directions before use.
When will my child's condition improve after taking Pyrigesic Drop?
Pyrigesic Drop usually starts working within 30 to 60 minutes of intake and shows its peak effect within 3 to 4 hours. However, if the pain or fever persists longer, consult your child's doctor immediately.
My child vomited after taking Pyrigesic Drop. What should I do?
If your child vomits after taking Pyrigesic Drop, it is not uncommon, but if symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical attention from your child's doctor.
Can I give Pyrigesic Drop to my child for low-grade fever?
You can give this medicine if your child has a temperature of 38.3°C (101°F) or higher, but always consult your child's doctor first.
My child's fever is persistent even after taking Pyrigesic Drop. What should I do?
If the fever doesn't come down after the initial few doses, it may be a sign of an underlying infection (virus or bacteria). Consult your child's doctor for specific treatment.
How much of Pyrigesic Drop is considered as an overdose?
Do not take more than four doses in 24 hours, with at least a 4-6 hour gap between each dose. Taking more than 250 mg/kg can lead to toxicity and potentially fatal outcomes.
Is there any special diet my child needs to follow while taking this medicine?
Unless instructed by your doctor, maintain a normal balanced diet while continuing the medication, as lack of nutrition can increase the risk of medicinal toxicity.
Where should I store this medicine?
Keep Pyrigesic Drop at room temperature in a dry place beyond the reach of children.
In what conditions must Pyrigesic Drop be given with caution?
Use with caution if your child has malnutrition, G6PD deficiency, liver disease, or any medicinal allergy. Consult your doctor to ensure safe usage.
Can I give Pyrigesic Drop on a routine basis when my child is taking a vaccine?
It's not recommended to give Pyrigesic Drop with vaccines that cause fever, as it may reduce the efficacy of the vaccine. Consult your doctor for guidance.
