The syrup contains creosote, which reduces the spreading of respiratory tract infections by making the lung environment antiseptic. Guaiacol removes sputum present at the site of infection and allows the drugs administered to penetrate better.

Adults: 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily or as directed by the physician. Children: In proportion or as directed by the physician.
