Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain.

Prokoff Syrup is prescribed to get relief from a dry cough. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Consult your doctor if you do not see any improvement and have a cough for more than 7 days. Let your doctor know if you are taking any anti-depressants.
