Progival 2mg Tablet is to be swallowed with water. It can be taken with or without food, but remember to take it at a fixed time each day for better efficacy. The dose and duration will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Progival 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Progival 2mg Tablet contains a medication called estrogen (female sex hormone). It works by replacing estrogen that is normally produced by the body. In women who are undergoing or have attained menopause, it prevents symptoms such as hot flushes, vaginal burning, dryness, and itching caused due to lack of estrogen.
You have been prescribed Progival 2mg Tablet as a part of hormone replacement therapy to relieve symptoms of menopause. It may also be used for preventing osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fractures. Take it at the same time everyday to help you remember to take it. Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual vaginal bleeding or spotting abnormal vaginal discharge or vaginal discomfort while taking Progival 2mg Tablet.
Progival 2mg Tablet contains Estradiol, a type of estrogen hormone. It is prescribed to treat low estrogen symptoms like hot flushes (red and warm face) and vaginal dryness in women. It also helps prevent osteoporosis (thinning and weakening of bones) in postmenopausal women at high risk for fractures.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If more than 12 hours have passed since the missed dose, do not take the missed dose and continue your usual dosing schedule.
Common side effects associated with Progival 2mg Tablet include lower abdominal pain, periods pain, breast tenderness, endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of the uterus lining), and vaginal discharge. Most of these symptoms are temporary. If they persist, please consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Treatment for estrogen deficiency is tailored to the underlying cause. Your doctor may prescribe various medications based on factors like age and specific medical conditions. The type of medication will also depend on whether you have low estrogen or high progesterone levels.

Individuals with a history of uterus or breast cancer, stroke, heart attack, or a prior history of blood clots are also advised to avoid this medication.
