Poviset-MS Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, Sucralfate, and Povidone Iodine. Metronidazole is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Sucralfate is an anti-ulcer medicine that covers the damaged tissue and protects it against injury to facilitate healing. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic that slowly releases iodine, which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms.
