Pinoin 5mg Capsule is a derivative of vitamin A. It acts on glands (sebaceous) to reduce the production of a natural substance (sebum) that causes acne. Also, the controlled sebum production kills acne-causing bacteria. It also works as an anti-inflammatory to decrease inflammation (redness and swelling).
You have been prescribed Pinoin 5mg Capsule for the treatment of severe acne. Take it with food. Avoid exposure to sunlight while using Pinoin 5mg Capsule. Use protective measures such as sunscreen or protective clothing. Avoid face waxing and laser treatment while using this medicine as it makes your skin more fragile. Many patients have experienced long-lasting effects, with a single course effectively curing their acne and preventing recurrence. If another course is required, it should be at least 8 weeks after completing the initial one. This duration is based on the experience that symptoms in acne patients can continue to improve even after treatment with Pinoin 5mg Capsule.
If pregnancy occurs during treatment with Pinoin 5mg Capsule, there is a very high risk that the baby may be born with severe birth defects. This risk stems from the drug's effect on fetal development.
There are no known reports of Pinoin 5mg Capsule causing cancer, and in fact, it may be beneficial in some types of head, skin, and neck cancers.
A typical course of treatment for Pinoin 5mg Capsule is 15–20 weeks. Therefore, long-term effects from low doses have not been studied. However, it may potentially affect bone mineral density. It may decrease bone mineral density in some patients, leading to osteoporosis or fractures.
