Introduction
Phiof MZ Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. It is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.

How it works
Phiof MZ Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination.
Quick Tips
Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water. Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Phiof MZ Oral Suspension on tongue) after taking Phiof MZ Oral Suspension. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Phiof MZ Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Phiof MZ Oral Suspension treats only bacterial infections.
