Pecol CT Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. It is commonly prescribed in children to relieve symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.

Pecol CT Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Do not give Pecol CT Syrup if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child’s doctor before giving such medicines. Pecol CT Syrup may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Pecol CT Syrup with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Pecol CT Syrup and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
A common cold is usually self-limited and lasts for about a week. If your child needs comfort, discuss treatment options with their doctor. If their symptoms don't improve or worsen, seek medical advice from their healthcare provider. A persistent cough could be a sign of bronchitis or asthma.
Excessive intake of Pecol CT Syrup can lead to serious side effects like seizures, psychiatric symptoms, urinary retention, shaking of hands, blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, and rapid heart rate. Immediately contact your child's doctor.
It's crucial to discuss any other medications or substances your child is taking with their healthcare provider before administering Pecol CT Syrup. Always consult your doctor for guidance on proper medication administration, especially for children.
Avoid giving Pecol CT Syrup if your child suffers from seizures. It's also important to note that this medication should not be given to children with cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Always share your child's medical history with their doctor before administering Pecol CT Syrup for any medical condition.
Pecol CT Syrup might cause mild drowsiness in children, which could lead to them feeling sleepy. Therefore, be cautious and never use this medicine to induce sleep. Forced sleep may mask underlying sleep disorders like insomnia. Consult your child's doctor before administering this medication.
Store Pecol CT Syrup at room temperature, in a dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Also, keep all medications inaccessible to children to prevent accidental ingestion.
