It is mainly given to treat nausea and vomiting associated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and stomach/intestinal infection. It also helps treat vomiting that is caused as a side effect of medicines like painkillers.
Give Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup just before the procedure to help block the effect of serotonin on vomiting centers of the brain and prevent vomiting.

During radiotherapy, chemotherapy, abdominal infection, or any major surgeries, the dead cells in the body start releasing a chemical called serotonin directly into the blood. Later, this stimulates special centers in the body that are responsible for inducing vomiting in your child. Giving Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup just before the procedure helps block the effect of this chemical on vomiting centers of the brain and prevents vomiting.
Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup effectively controls nausea and bouts of vomiting reflex in children undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy sessions. It is fast-acting and starts working within 30 minutes. Practice self-care measures: Give plenty of fluids to your child to avoid dehydration, Avoid giving fried and spicy food or heavy meals to your child, Ensure that your child eats slowly and in small proportions.
Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup is generally prescribed for children before major surgeries or chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. It helps prevent vomiting after the procedure. In some cases, it may be recommended for treating stomach-related vomiting for a few days as directed by your child's doctor.
It is unlikely to cause serious harm if an extra dose of Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup is given accidentally. However, it's essential to contact your child's doctor immediately. In case of excessive intake, serotonin syndrome can develop, which may include symptoms like drowsiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerks, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures.
Store Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup at room temperature, away from direct heat and light. Keep all medications out of the reach of children.
You should always consult your child's doctor before giving any medication to your child, including Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup. Some medications can interact with Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup and may lead to serotonin syndrome. Please inform your doctor about all other medicines your child is taking.
If your child develops symptoms of serotonin syndrome, including irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomiting, inability to pass wind, pale skin and eyes, dark-colored urine, restlessness, and insomnia, contact your child's doctor immediately.
Ozotron 2mg/5ml Syrup should not be given in combination with migraine medications intended for depression or migraine, due to the potential risk of serotonin syndrome. Consult your child's doctor before administering any medication.
