Oxyptadil Injection is a medicine used for treatment of severe coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Oxyptadil Injection is generally given by a doctor or a nurse. Do not self administer this medicine at home. The dose and duration of the treatment will depend on your condition and how you respond to it. Get the injection for as long as your doctor has prescribed for maximum benefits. The most common side effects of this medicine include diarrhea, low blood pressure, flushing, and injection site reactions such as redness, pain, and swelling. These are mostly temporary and get better in due time. However, if they persist or get worse, let your doctor know. This medicine must be used with cautions in patients with severe cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions. Let your doctor know if you have a known history of allergic reaction to this medicine or any component of this product. Let your doctor also know about all the other medicines you are taking. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before receiving this medicine.
